Oxidation Catalyst

Owners/operators face the challenge of exhaust emissions on their lean-burn natural gas, propane, or dual-fuel industrial engines. Because there’s excess air in the lean-burn fuel mix and exhaust stream, bringing carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), volatile organics (VOCs), aldehydes, and other hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) to acceptable levels can be a challenging task. MIRATECH’s Oxidation Catalyst is designed specifically for these types of applications.

Available in a wide range of sizes and shapes, MIRATECH’s Oxidation Catalyst can be custom-tailored to fit virtually any space requirements, used in any brand of catalytic converters, and worked into any budget. Also for operators with load-variant applications, it can be an affordable, effective, no-hassle solution in dealing with CO, HC, VOCs and HAPs emissions control.

SCR Catalyst

The SCR Process

The MIRATECH SCR catalyst systems work in two efficient stages – the Oxidation Stage for CO and HC reduction and the SCR stage provides NOx reduction. Both stages work together, drastically reducing harmful emissions to satisfy the strictest regulatory requirements. In the mixing section, either ammonia or aqueous urea is injected into the exhaust stream. Urea is often used instead of ammonia, as urea is less toxic, easier to transport and store, and allows easier permitting. Urea in this system is hydrolyzed and breaks down in the exhaust stream to form ammonia.

The Oxidation Stage uses oxidation catalyst elements, with surface coatings impregnated with precious metals, to reduce CO, HAPs, and VOCs—oxidizing these pollutants to form water and carbon dioxide. Ammonia, whether injected directly or formed from urea, reacts with NOx at the SCR catalyst to form harmless water and nitrogen.

MIRATECH Analysis Controlled Injection System (ACIS™) makes SCR control easier than ever. ACIS, featuring info-at-a-glance graphics integrates key monitoring points and control functions.

The key? ACIS closed-loop system continuously monitors actual post-catalyst NOx emissions and automatically adjusts reactant injection to ensure compliance whether you’re running a base-load or load-following application from idle to 100% rated load.

The payoff? Comfort in knowing that continuous, ongoing compliance and maximum efficiency in reactant use via an incredibly user-friendly monitoring and control system. Plus, with features like remote monitoring and troubleshooting, ACIS cuts man-hours required for SCR operations.

Custom Catalyst

MIRATECH is proud to say that we have been an OEM developer and manufacturer of catalyst and nano-phase surface chemistry products for twenty-five years. Numerous patents in North America, Europe and Asia are a testament to our innovation and dedication to the industry.

MIRATECH is not only a supplier of emission control catalysts for reciprocating engines, combustion turbines and boilers, fueled with all sorts of gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons and waste byproducts but also a producer of emission control catalyst products that set BACT, MACT and LAER.

That’s the pedigree and proving grounds for a team that can respond to your special emission control needs. Not every application fits neatly into a common category—that’s where we can help. You see, we understand the fundamentals of chemistry, thermodynamics and catalysis. That’s part of our product development toolbox. Ask us about case studies where we developed specialty formulations, applied them to advanced substrates, and installed them on customer engines in under two weeks. Mission accomplished.

Housing - Catalyst & Silencer

VX Series

Each type of housing is available in two sizes and can hold up to two square VORTEX® elements, which are available in full or half panels to achieve different levels of emissions reductions. The housing includes two (2) ½” NPT couplings located in the inlet and outlet flange necks for instrument fittings and one (1) ½” NPT drain.

Access to the catalyst is provided through a simple cover plate design, thus eliminating the need to remove the housing from the exhaust piping to service the catalyst. Plus, the VX Series’ slide-in feature, which does not rely on moving parts or a complex loading apparatus, allows users to safely and easily lift/install/remove catalysts. Furthermore, the convenient location of the ½” NPT ports allows for easy installation of pressure gauges, thermocouples, or sample tubes to monitor catalyst performance. The benefits to operators are simple and quick installation, maintenance, and performance monitoring, all of which save time and money.

Quad Tuned

MIRATECH’s QUAD-TUNED Silencers give customers the confidence that their unique noise requirement situation will be met while not impacting their engine backpressure requirements. Simply put…MIRATECH’s QUAD-TUNED Silencer innovative design sets new standards for sound attenuation.

The QUAD-TUNED Silencer innovative reactive chamber design incorporates quadruple tuning. This design is a more efficient than using multiple baffle sections in series. It also produces a wider range of attenuation compared to traditional attenuation designs. For example, its quadruple-tuned reactive components effectively control low frequency combustion sound. Mid and high frequency sounds are controlled with dissipative (absorptive) components. Then, the shell radiated noise is controlled with internal/external insulation (damping). Altogether, its design makes MIRATECH’s QUAD-TUNED Silencers the superior solution on the market.
