Where NOx control is a challenge, MIRATECH delivers the best SCR system, service, and product support. The MIRATECH SCR systems work in two efficient stages: the NOx Reduction Stage and the Oxidation Stage for CO and HC reduction. Both stages work together, drastically reducing harmful emissions to satisfy the strictest regulatory requirements.
The new NR housing is designed for the NOx Reduction Stage and houses the SCR catalyst. This is where the exhaust that has been injected with ammonia (whether injected directly or formed from urea) reacts with NOx to form harmless water and nitrogen.
Its carbon steel housing has flanged inlet and outlet connections, so that it can be easily bolted into the engine exhaust system. Lifting lugs and mounting feet are also provided for ease of installation. Two access door is provided for loading the filter blocks, and an additional access door and ports are provided for filter cleaning. Instrumentation ports are installed on the inlet and outlet for monitoring the pressure and temperature differentials across the filter.
The CARB Level 3 Plus Verified (California Air Resources Board) LTR system is developed for maximum reduction of engine exhaust emissions from emergency backup and prime power generator units. The LTR’s oxidation catalyst (DOC) is built into the front of the filter housing which treats the exhaust before it enters the diesel particulate filter (DPF). This system design addresses pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon (HC), volatile organic compounds (VOC), and particulate matter (PM).
Plus, it is designed to remove over 85% (and can achieve up to 97% removal) of particulate matter (PM or soot) from stationary diesel engine exhaust with regeneration temperature requirements as low as 500°F/260°C. The captured particulate matter is burned off passively through catalytic oxidation energized by the exhaust temperature. (No additional heat input to the exhaust gases is required.) Therefore, for most engines, soot regeneration can start at an engine load as low as 30% (at 500°F / 260°C) with properly insulated exhaust piping.
The DOC is made of proven VORTEX™ substrate and is coated with precious metals to promote specific oxidation reactions to convert:
CO to CO2
Unburned Hydrocarbons to CO2 and H2O (Water)
Some NO will be converted to NO2, to support the regeneration process in the DPF module.
The DPF module is made of multiple DPF blocks consisting of porous Mullite substrate. It will capture the particulate matter with a filtration efficiency of 85% or better. Once the PM is captured, it can be catalytically oxidized with the support of NO2 for the oxidation process.
In addition, MIRATECH’s DPF Data Logger kit comes with all the proper components to monitor the temperature and back pressure at the inlet of the LTR housing. Each kit contains: (1) Controller, (1) Display, (1) Pressure Gauge Assembly, (1) Moisture Separator, (1) Fuse Kit and (1) Wiring Harness. This monitoring system provides warnings when the exhaust-gas back pressure in exhaust systems reaches excessively high levels, as can happen when a filter becomes clogged with diesel soot. If the monitoring system detects too high of a back pressure level, or severe damage to the filter, it first provides a visual alarm for the user by means of illuminated display lamps, and then generates an audible alarm.
The LTR system is designed to accommodate engines sized from 100 kW to 4 MW and can be fitted on Tier 1, 2, or 3 engines with certified PM emissions that are less than 0.3 g/bkW-hr.
It comes standard with a carbon steel housing with high temperature black paint and is also available in 304SS. Plus, the LTR system provides Critical grade noise reduction, eliminating the need for a separate silencer in most applications. In addition it is engineered for easy installation and service. Its compact profile allows for installation flexibility especially since it can replace a separate silencer.”
With proper engine control and maintenance practices, the LTR will provide years of trouble free emissions abatement.
Our passive DPF technology uses porous, wall-flow ceramic filters, shown to be thermally and mechanically durable in engine operation. The filters are assembled in modular arrays within MIRATECH’s LTR and MIRA-CUBE housing lines. These modular DPF filters are stackable, to tailor particulate matter reduction capacity to an engine’s specific needs. MIRATECH’s filter construction also affords much greater particulate trapping and “storage” capacity than other filters. Filter regeneration temperatures and back pressures are low and stay well within OEM limits.
Coated with a sulfur-resistant catalyst to reduce the temperature required for particulate oxidation, MIRATECH’s DPF filters allow PM burn-off or “passive regeneration” using engine exhaust heat at temperatures as low as 500°F/260°C, depending on the engine’s particulate production. Unlike some soot filters, MIRATECH’s design limits NO₂ production, which means no worries over regulated by-products.

ACIS-BLU
A New Level Of Sophistication
The MIRATECH ACIS-BLU SCR control and dosing system brings a new level of sophistication and simplicity to gas and diesel engines in the 300-1500 kW power range. The ACIS-BLU is available in an open loop configuration to meet less stringent NOx control or monitoring needs, as well as NOx sensor-based closed-loop configuration to meet lower NOx targets along with low ammonia slip levels. Robust monitoring and data logging provide the user with operating data to demonstrate compliance assurance. Logs are easily exported to a USB stick in CSV format. Settings and parameters can easily be saved and imported, making set-up for multiple units much faster. The ACIS-BLU control and dosing system can be utilized on nearly every combination of MIRATECH SCR solutions, including SCR-only, SCR and oxidation, or SCR and DPF (diesel only).
Compact, Simplified, High-Performance
The ACIS-BLU dosing system utilizes high-pressure, airless urea injection. This provides extremely fine urea atomization resulting in shorter mixing sections, along with eliminating the air compressor common in most stationary systems. That’s one less component to install and maintain. Compact urea pump and injector require a minimum amount of space, making retrofits or new installation easier to design and install.
Main Features
High-pressure airless urea injection provides ultra-fine atomization along with fewer components
Pre-fabricated outdoor-rated wiring harness with quick connects at components simplify installation
Quick-connect fittings on pump and injector makes installation and maintenance easier
Available inlet and outlet NOx/O2 sensors for closed-loop control and system monitoring

Logs critical operating parameters; log files are easily exported
The ACIS-3 Closed-Loop Control system utilizes NOx sensors for pre-SCR and post-SCR NOx values, which it then uses to adjust urea injection to constantly achieve a specific NOx target. It continuously monitors urea injection rate and compares to the desired rate and adjusts accordingly. NOx targets of 25 ppm or greater, concurrent with low ammonia slip, can be maintained with the ACIS-3 control system.
Operator interface is via a powerful yet simple HMI with graphical representation of the entire emission system. An operator can see at a glance critical operating information such as temperatures, NOx measurements, injection rate, exhaust pressure, etc.
ACIS-II (Closed-Loop Control with Electrochemical Analyzer)
The ACIS-II Closed-Loop Control system has an on-board measurement of post-SCR NOx values, which it then uses to adjust urea injection to constantly achieve a specific NOx target. NOx targets of 5 ppm or lower, with concurrent low ammonia slip, can be maintained with the ACIS-II control system.
Like the ACIS-3, the ACIS-II has a powerful HMI which makes monitoring and setting up the system simple.
Mira-Monitor
The Mira-Monitor, For Temperature And Pressure Measurement And Data Logging
The reliable, cost-effective MIRA-MONITOR provides users with a Continuous Parametric Monitoring System (CPMS) and helps gas and diesel engine users meet RICE NESHAP requirements by providing complete catalyst monitoring for total control over regulation compliance.
Federal regulations adopted by U.S. EPA on March 3, 2010 require many owners and operators of large engines to comply with a standard known as the RICE NESHAP Rule. The RICE NESHAP rule compliance date for diesel (CI – compression ignition) engines was May 3, 2013, and gas (SI – spark ignited) engines was October 19, 2013. Regulations include work practices and catalyst monitoring.
The MIRATECH MIRA-MONITOR includes the equipment needed to monitor and record inlet temperature and differential pressure to comply with NESHAP CPMS requirements. Users can configure and extract logged data using the included software to provide credible evidence of continuous compliance.
The MIRA-MONITOR logs catalyst inlet temperature and differential pressure samples every minute. The MIRA-MONITOR starts recording data when the differential pressure is greater than 1″ of water column. The logger stops recording data when the differential pressure drops below 1″ of water column. Optionally, logging can be triggered with an engine run signal. Two red lamps on the front of the MIRA-MONITOR indicate if there is high exhaust temperature or high differential pressure.
The easy-to-use controls allow the user to manually start or stop logging and step through the operating parameters. When it’s time to download the log files, the user can easily connect to the logger with a laptop or desk top computer and an ethernet cable or remove the compact flash card and download the log file with a card reader.

DPF Monitor
MIRATECH’s Differential Pressure and Temperature Monitor & Data-Logging (Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) monitor) system provides warnings when the exhaust-gas pressure reaches high levels, as can happen when a filter becomes clogged with diesel soot or ash. If the monitoring system detects back pressure levels which are too high, it first of all provides a visual alarm for the user by means of illuminated display lamps, and then generates a further audible alarm.
In addition, the DPF Monitor measures the temperature of exhaust entering the DPF, displaying and logging that information.
If desired, actual pressure and temperature values can be shown on the display. The pressure and temperature are continuously written to memory. When an alarm is generated, it remains activated until the relevant values return to normal levels. The audible alarm is switched off when the alarm is acknowledged.
Pressure is measured in the range between 0 and 600 mbar (0 – 240 inches water). Temperatures in the range between 50 °C and 1,050 °C (120 °F – 1920°F) can be displayed.
The operator can ascertain by means of the temperature display whether the exhaust-system temperature is within the optimum range for the filter. If a back-pressure alarm is generated, the operator can raise the temperature of the exhaust gas by increasing the engine load and thus causing the filter to clean itself. The exhaust-gas back pressure will then be reduced, and the warning light will be extinguished.
